Recent high profile enforcement activities under Canada's Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act (CFPOA) have put anti-corruption investigations and compliance squarely on the radar of many companies and advisors, particularly those conducting business in emerging markets. Understanding your obligations under the CFPOA as well as the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the United Kingdom's Anti-Bribery Act of 2010 has become very important to enterprises conducting business outside of Canada. Osler has developed this complimentary seminar addressing requirements under FCP legislations, procedures to ensure compliance and what to do when an issue arises - whether as a result of current circumstances or due to past acts.

Riyaz Dattu, Frank Turner and Neal Ross invite you to join them for this timely and informative seminar where we will discuss:

  • Obligations and potential liabilities under foreign corrupt practices legislation;
  • The legislative proposals to amend the CFPOA to facilitate obtaining convictions against corporations, and increasing of jail terms for officers and directors;
  • Strategies to minimize your exposure through appropriate policies, documentation and compliance audits; and
  • What to do if an issue arises - corporate investigations and dealing with the regulator.
