Shawn Denstedt Q.C., Partner, Litigation, will be speaking at the AMPLA 2013 National Conference in Australia on Friday, October 18, 2013 on the subject of “Unconventional Gas - the Evolving Landscape in Australia.” This session, held in two parts, will consider from a regulator’s perspective how to navigate the regulatory approvals regime for unconventional gas projects and as well, will review the lessons learned internationally from unconventional gas project development and how they are relevant to Australia’s rapidly growing unconventional gas sector. Legal and commercial issues involved in getting unconventional gas projects up and running in Indonesia will be considered. This is a challenging jurisdiction where a number of very familiar issues are seen through a different lens. Then operational and infrastructure legal issues in unconventional gas projects in North America will be examined, from field development of shale gas resources to the infrastructure and facilities required to transport and process gas.
