The CELF 2014 Jasper Research Seminar takes place from Wednesday, June 11 to Saturday, June 14, 2014. Maureen Killoran Q. C., and Calgary Managing Partner, is speaking on the topic of Navigating Murky Waters: Emerging Trends in Aboriginal Consultation and Project Approval on Thursday, June 12 from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
Ten years following the Supreme Court of Canada decision in Haida v. British Columbia (Minister of Forests), Aboriginal opposition to resource development projects continue to challenge governments and tribunals. This seminar will be of interest to those involved in the development of energy and resource projects that require provincial and/or federal environmental assessment and engage the Crown’s duty to consult and accommodate Aboriginal peoples.
