Biography
Deborah acts as counsel on a wide variety of corporate commercial litigation matters in the Ontario Courts, the Federal Court, before various administrative tribunals and in other provincial jurisdictions. Over the past ten years her work has focused almost exclusively on the defence of class actions. Her practice includes corporate, commercial and banking disputes, products liability, and negligence claims under the Class Proceedings Act. Deborah has been counsel on cases setting procedural precedents relating to pleadings and evidence on certification. She was recently successful in defeating certification in the largest proposed class action in Canada and appointed Co-Chair of the International Subcommittee on Class Actions of the American Bar Association.
