On March 17, 2016, TC Energy entered into an agreement and plan of merger pursuant to which it will acquire Columbia Pipeline Group, Inc., a Texas-based company that operates an approximate 24,000-kilometre network of interstate natural gas pipelines extending from New York to the Gulf of Mexico, with a significant presence in the Appalachia production basin. This acquisition creates one of North America's largest regulated natural gas transmission businesses.
Osler represented TC Energy with a team led by Drew Morier and included Colena Der. This deal was named Americas Energy Tax Deal of the Year by International Tax Review at the 2016 Americas Tax Awards held in September. For more details about the awards, click here.
