Jacob’s practice focuses on the electricity sector and on regulatory matters relating to trading and marketplace activities for securities, commodities and derivatives. He is Co-Chair of Osler’s Energy Group and active in the firm’s Construction and Infrastructure Group, specializing in procurement, development, finance and commercial matters relating to the electricity sector. Jacob is also active in the firm’s Climate Change Group and is experienced in various emissions trading and renewable energy credit trading markets and associated regulations. In 2009 Jacob led the Osler team acting for the IESO (formerly the Ontario Power Authority) on the design, structure, consultation and drafting of legal documents for the renewable energy Feed-in Tariff Program, developed in connection with the Green Energy and Green Economy Act, 2009. From 2012 to 2014 Jacob was a director of the Canadian Solar Industries Association.
