Osler welcomes Deirdre Sheehan as a partner in the Calgary office. She will be one of the national Co-Chairs of the Regulatory, Indigenous and Environmental group, along with Richard King and Sander Duncanson.
Deirdre has extensive experience advising and representing clients on the regulatory and environmental aspects of electricity, power, and other energy developments, including regulatory proceedings for setting rates and tariffs. She has extensive experience advising on electrical transmission and distribution and power generation matters, including renewables, as well as pipelines, oil sands developments, upgraders, oil and gas facilities, gas storage, and waste disposal facilities. She also has expertise advising on environmental impact assessments and on consultation, accommodation and participation of Indigenous groups in energy developments.
Deirdre often advises on matters related to various regulatory agencies, including appearing before the Alberta Utilities Commission, the Alberta Energy Regulator, the Canada Energy Regulator and other regulatory agencies and tribunals, including Alberta Environment and Protected Areas, the Alberta Environmental Appeals Board, the British Columbia Utilities Commission and the Yukon Utilities Board.
