Elizabeth Sale joins Osler’s Financial Services Regulatory Practice Group in Toronto

Osler is pleased to welcome Elizabeth Sale as a partner in our Financial Services Regulatory Group. Elizabeth has many years of experience in advising a wide variety of Canadian financial services players and has a broad practice focused on the regulation of financial institutions and other financial services providers, including banks, foreign banks, captive finance companies, payday lenders, insurance companies, trust companies, loan companies, participants in the payment card industry and fintechs. She has particular expertise in both federal and provincial consumer protection and cost of borrowing legislation, including the application of these laws in the online environment, and routinely assists clients with their retail product offerings.

Elizabeth is known as a leader in her field. She is recognized for her regulatory expertise in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, The Legal 500 Canada 2019 and the IFLR1000: The Guide to the World’s Leading Financial Law Firms. A prolific writer and speaker, Elizabeth regularly provides thought leadership on current issues affecting the banking and financial services industry, including trends and developments in commercial and consumer lending. Elizabeth sits on the Policy Committee of the Canadian Lenders Association and is also a member of the Canadian Finance & Leasing Association’s Women in Asset Financing Committee.
