Congratulations to Maureen Killoran, QC on being recognized as one of Canada’s "Top 50 Women in Litigation" 2020 by Benchmark Litigation. This is the fifth consecutive year that Maureen has maintained her recognition as a top woman in litigation as recognized by Benchmark Litigation.
Maureen is recognized for her expertise in energy & resource, commercial, and aboriginal litigation, appellate advocacy, and constitutional and administrative law. Maureen is a trusted advisor to numerous major commercial clients and has broad experience in energy/resource industry matters. Among many significant matters, Maureen was lead litigation counsel for Trans Mountain Canada Inc. in its successful defence of four judicial review applications at the Federal Court of Appeal, challenging the June 2019 federal approval (Order in Council) of the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion Project.
Maureen is recognized by clients and peers as one of the best litigators in Canada and a trailblazer among women. She is the former Managing Partner of Osler’s Calgary office (2011-2017) and the first woman in Alberta to lead a national law firm on a regional level. Maureen practices out of both Osler’s Calgary and Vancouver offices, but her practice is national in scope — she has litigated in almost every province in Canada.
Benchmark Litigation provides exclusive coverage of the litigation and disputes market in North America. To identify the leading litigators in Canada, Benchmark conducts extensive research over a four-month period, including peer reviews and practitioner and client interviews, examining recent casework.
