Osler is pleased to congratulate partner May Cheng on receiving the Award of Excellence in the Promotion of Women’s Equality from the Ontario Bar Association Women Lawyers Forum.
The Award recognizes the significant contributions made by feminist lawyers to the promotion of equality rights in Canadian society, through their work for social justice, the advancement of substantive law or women’s advancement in the legal profession.
A dedicated champion of diversity and inclusion at Osler and in the legal profession, May serves on the firm’s Diversity Committee and the Osler Women Lawyers’ Network, hosting the Osler Annual Women’s Event last fall. For several years, May has also led the firm’s support for the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival.
Diversity and inclusion is a key priority for our firm, reflected in how we support our clients, the communities in which we work and participate, and most fundamentally in the importance we place on continuing to build a workplace where talented people with diverse viewpoints, characteristics and backgrounds come together to provide our clients with the highest quality legal services.
