Congratulations to Olivia Dixon, Christine Jackson, Jonathan Marin and Dan Shea on being named 2024 Lexpert Rising Stars: Canada’s Leading Lawyers Under 40.

The Lexpert Rising Stars awards recognize private practice and in-house lawyers who are emerging leaders in the Canadian legal community. Winners are selected by a distinguished advisory board, which considers the contributions that nominees make to their firm, company or department, as well as to the profession and larger community.

Olivia Dixon is a partner in Osler’s Disputes group, with a focus on energy litigation, construction litigation and international commercial arbitration. In her energy disputes practice, Olivia’s experience includes complex contractual disputes involving leases, ownership interests, operating agreements and processing agreements. Olivia has also acted in litigation surrounding major resource projects, including judicial review applications, regulatory appeals, and environmental, administrative, constitutional, Charter and Indigenous claims.

Christine Jackson is a partner in Osler’s Commercial group and has a diverse commercial law practice with an emphasis on technology, supply chain, retail and franchising. The technology aspect of Christine’s practice is comprised of advising technology suppliers and customers on various commercial and contractual issues, including software-as-a-service agreements, service-provider arrangements, financial technology arrangements, data agreements, complex outsourcing arrangements, procurement, software licensing, consumer protection and financial regulatory issues. Christine’s technology practice has a particular focus on advising both suppliers and customers in the fintech industry.

Jonathan Marin is a partner in Osler’s Pensions and Benefits group. Jon practices exclusively in the area of pensions and employee benefits law, He provides advice on legal and regulatory issues affecting all aspects of provincially and federally regulated pension plans and other employee benefit plans. Jon deals with issues such as plan design, governance and administration, pension de-risking, plan wind ups, plan compliance, as well as pension and benefit issues arising in corporate transactions generally, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and corporate reorganizations.

Dan Shea is a partner in the Corporate Group of our Calgary office and his practice focuses on capital markets and private equity. Dan advises issuers and underwriters on investment grade and high yield debt offerings, equity offerings and debt liability management transactions. He also advises companies and private equity sponsors on a range of mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions.
