Osler is proud to announce that partners Paul Litner and May Cheng have been named the 2018 Lexpert Zenith Award recipients, recognizing Mid-Career Excellence. Both have demonstrated excellence and thought leadership in their respective practice areas and are well-deserving recipients of this award.

Paul is the Chair of the Pensions & Benefits Department and has over 25 years’ experience practicing exclusively as a pensions and benefits lawyer—all with Osler.  Paul is a widely respected thought leader in the pensions sector, and is trusted advisor to many of Canada’s largest pension plan sponsors and administrators, including TELUS and HOOPP. Paul has advised on many large Canadian and international transactions, and has a reputation as an expert counsel who has been at the forefront of many of the most innovative developments in the pension sector, including advising OPB on the establishment of IMCO. Paul has had an immeasurable impact on the pensions & benefits bar as well as the broader sector and community. He has made invaluable contributions through his many speaking engagements, publications and especially through his extensive involvement in leadership roles with industry organizations such as the ACPM.

May is a Certified Specialist in Intellectual Property Law and has been a key part of our IP group since joining Osler over a year ago. She has 25 years of experience in advising clients on all aspects of intellectual property protection and enforcement, including branding strategy, acquisition, licensing and anti-counterfeiting. May recently acted as an expert consultant to The Government of the Bahamas in redrafting their intellectual property legislation to ensure compliance with international treaty obligations for ascension to the WTO. May has received multiple accolades for her legal and extensive community work, which includes causes that support the advancement of women’s rights and garnered her the Women’s Law Association of Ontario President’s Award in 2016.
