Osler is pleased to welcome two new partners who are joining the Firm’s Corporate Group as Co-Chairs of the Digital Assets and Blockchain Group.
Matthew Burgoyne joins Osler’s Calgary office with extensive experience advising national and international clients in digital currency law. He has supported the formation of cryptocurrency exchanges and has advised digital token and coin developers, cryptocurrency ATM providers, cryptocurrency investors, and cryptocurrency-related investment funds. Matthew was one of the first Canadian lawyers to act for cryptocurrency companies in Canada and has also represented one of Canada’s first non-fungible token (NFT) platforms.
Laure Fouin will be located in Osler’s Montréal office with her practice focusing on financial institutions, financial products and services regulation, securities regulation and investment products (including crypto assets and crypto contracts), structured finance and debt capital markets (DCM), and fintech. She regularly shares her expertise on matters relating to the use of blockchain technology, crypto assets, digital tokens, artificial intelligence in financial services, regulatory and compliance issues relating to financial services entities and financial products, including banks and investment funds.
