Osler is proud to announce that its Intellectual Property group has once again been recognized by IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Professionals.

Maintaining its position in the Gold tier for Patent Litigation this year, the IAM Patent 1000 remarked that “Osler is a safe pair of hands and can be trusted to make the right decisions. Their advice is prompt and practical, and the crew is highly professional from start to finish. They have one of the top patent litigation teams in the country, especially in the pharmaceutical space”.

In the 2023 edition of the prestigious rankings, Osler also earned Silver status in Patent Prosecution and is “recommended” in Patent Transactions.

Partner Brad White, Chair of Osler’s Intellectual Property team, earned a Gold ranking in the Patent Litigation category and is recommended for Patent Prosecution. Vincent de Grandpré and Nathaniel Lipkus received Silver rankings for Patent Litigation while Geoff Langen and Faylene Lunn secured Bronze rankings for Patent Litigation.

The IAM Patent 1000 describes Brad White as a “decorated lawyer and the go-to for pharmaceutical companies when things get heated.” They also note that “Nathaniel Lipkus, Faylene Lunn and Geoffrey Langen have been continuing to provide strategic assistance in a number of separate disputes for Teva, several of which are currently ongoing. The team’s victory in the Rivaroxaban case — blood clot prevention medicine — was a momentous result that will have ripple effects across generic pharmaceutical industry.”

Vincent de Grandpré is commended for successfully defending Awesense, “an energy transition platform, in an infringement action over the use of technology for detecting power losses in an electrical distribution grid.” The rankings note that newcomer Jean-Nicolas Delage, who joined the firm’s Emerging and High Growth Companies practice early last year,  “has all the right tools to enhance the value of his clients’ businesses, supporting emerging and high-growth companies with their IP strategy and transactions.”
