The 2015 FT Innovative Lawyers Awards attracted hundreds of submissions and nominations from leading law firms and in-house legal teams across North America. FT research partner, RSG Consulting, vetted and analyzed each entry through hundreds of client, expert and lawyer interviews. The resulting awards recognize extraordinary lawyers who are working to change the practice of law and add transformative value to business and society. Osler was honoured to be shortlisted in two categories – Most Innovative Canadian Law Firm, and Innovation in the Business of Law: Compliance and Technology.
Most Innovative Canadian Law Firm
Ranked by the FT Innovative Lawyers Special Report as one of the top three most innovative Canadian law firms, Osler was recognised for “innovative approaches that increased transparency of services and included the use of big data.” The report refers to Osler’s 2014 reporting system initiatives (such as GC dashboard reporting) that offer clients more insight into their relationship with the firm. Also contributing to this ranking was Osler’s Client Listening & Reporting Program – encompassing Strategic Client Interviews, Legal Project Management Reviews and Net Promoter Scores.
Compliance and Technology
Osler was highly commended for innovation in compliance and technology. This award category recognizes those lawyers who have made a critical contribution to transforming their clients' businesses. Osler received the commendation for its innovative service AccessPrivacy. Spearheaded by Adam Kardash, head of Osler’s Privacy and Data Management Practice Group, AccessPrivacy integrates consulting, legal expertise and online tools for compliance professionals as well as providing thought leadership forums for Chief Privacy Officers (CPOs).
