Dale Ponder, Osler’s managing partner and chief executive, will be the recipient of the Toronto Lawyers Association’s 2017 Award of Distinction, as announced in a recent article in Law Times. Ponder has practised at the firm since she was an associate in the 1980s, beginning her career as a tax lawyer and then moving into securities law where she made her mark as one of the country’s leading corporate and M&A practitioners. Dale has been the managing partner and chief executive of Osler since 2009.

Dale credits several of her mentors from her early days at Osler as having had a lasting impact on her career, including Brian Levitt, Jack Petch and Peter Dey. In particular, they gave her the chance to work on some of Canada’s most significant corporate and M&A deals.

“I owe a great debt of gratitude to each of them for taking such an interest in me personally and for giving me the development opportunities they did,” Dale says.
