Corporate LiveWire has honoured Osler as the 2016 Insolvency & Restructuring Law Firm of the Year in Canada.
We are pleased to announce our 2016 Legal Awards win was earned after an extensive assessment process in which we were selected out of six shortlisted law firms in the category. Over the past year, more than 500,000 professionals were invited to put forward nominations for the annual awards, which honour individuals, teams or firms within the legal sector who excel in their respective fields.
Our excellent work in advising Comark Inc., in its CCAA proceedings was just one example of why we stood out in the judging process for the practice area.
Osler developed and implemented a novel transaction structure which enabled Comark to continue to receive supply from offshore suppliers on credit by working with an independent third party to provide guarantees to such suppliers. Without this structure, it is unlikely that Comark would have been able to continue as a going concern.
With the win we have earned a spot in Corporate LiveWire’s winners’ guide — yet to be published — which is distributed to over 500,000 legal professionals.
