Osler is proud to announce our Corporate Practice Group has been named “Corporate Law Firm of the Year” at the Chambers Canada Awards 2016, which honours leading law firms.

Our top-tier Corporate Practice Group was honoured by Chambers and Partners at an awards ceremony on Thursday, September 29 in Toronto.

The prestigious awards recognize law firms consistently ranked at the top of key practice areas, and are based on the research for the 2017 Chambers Canada: Canada’s Leading Lawyers for Business. The awards criteria factors in excellence in not only client service, but in overall strategic growth, and highlights outstanding achievements over the past 12 months. Practice areas are also ranked according to the breadth of legal expertise of the firm’s lawyers, and assessments are also made based on client and peer interviews.

Chambers and Partners highlighted Osler’s diverse portfolio and broad range of expertise in driving some of Canada’s largest M&A, capital markets and private equity transactions across different industries in the past 12 months in their assessment. According to Chambers and Partners, sources say Osler is “one of the best firms to use for anything with a high degree of complexity and for matters that span multiple practice areas.”

Chambers and Partners recognized Osler for its role as leading advisor on, among other transactions: the hostile turned friendly acquisition of Canadian Oil Sands by Suncor, the IPO of Hydro One, and the acquisition of Cirque du Soleil by TPG.
