Osler’s Vancouver office extended its industry and practice coverage in mining and financial services with the addition of partners, Alan Hutchison and Martha Martindale.

Alan Hutchison practices corporate and securities law and has served as a strategic advisor to public and privately held mining companies and financiers around the world for more than fifteen years. A former global mining practice leader for an international law firm, he advises on M&A, corporate finance, governance, securities and regulatory issues related to continuous disclosure and other compliance obligations.

Martha Martindale has a broad-based commercial lending practice related to all aspects of lending including single lender and syndicated facilities, traditional covenant-based loans, project finance, real estate financing and construction loans and cross-border transactions.

“The addition of these highly regarded lawyers to our office is timely given the importance of these industries to our firm. Alan brings depth and breadth of business law experience with mining and corporate clients while Martha provides astute commercial lending and debt financing experience in addition to contributing to our P3 and infrastructure platform”, said Mark Longo, Vancouver Office Managing Partner.

“Our Vancouver office has just celebrated its first year anniversary and we are grateful for the tremendous support the business community has extended to us. In that period, we have expanded our presence in the emerging companies’ space and across all technology industry participants. We are pleased to add B.C. expertise in the important national industries of mining and commercial lending to augment our firm-wide expertise in these practice areas.  Vancouver is an important gateway to our domestic and international clients and we are delighted to grow alongside our clients”, said Dale Ponder, Osler’s Chief Executive and Managing Partner.
