Osler is pleased to welcome Steven Morgan as Managing Consultant for our AccessPrivacy offering — the consulting arm of Osler’s renowned Privacy and Data Management Practice Group. Steven complements our fully integrated AccessPrivacy team of cross-sectoral legal experts that offers a broad range of information management solutions.
Steven brings a diverse skill set to the role and more than 25 years of experience managing a wide variety of projects including privacy audits and reviews. AccessPrivacy clients can rely on his extensive background to provide a broad range of privacy and risk management advice to the private sector. He conducts privacy reviews and audits; designs privacy and CASL compliance monitoring programs; advises on privacy and outsourcing governance and accountability programs; advises on records-management programs; designs and assesses privacy control frameworks; drafts policies, procedures and training materials; and assists with data incidents, responses, investigations and remediations.
Prior to joining Osler, Steven was the Director General of the Audit and Review Branch at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada from 2009 to 2017. In this capacity, he oversaw hundreds of privacy reviews, audits and privacy impact assessments. Prior to this role, Steven was a Director with the Office of the Auditor General for seven years where he was in charge of undertaking various audits.
