Elevate, Canada's largest tech and innovation festival, was held in Toronto on September 21-27, 2018, bringing together global professionals, tech leaders, investors and creatives to connect, discover and be inspired by the individuals shaping the future. Welcoming more than 10,000 guests, the festival featured more than 300 inspiring guest speakers at 250-plus host venues across the city and offered insights from global thought leaders as well as topical content streams, experiential programming and social events.

Osler was proud to partner with the festival and host Elevate ScaleUp on September 26, which it co-created with CIBC. The content track provided startups the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and entrepreneurs who have scaled real businesses and addressed challenges head-on throughout their careers. The startup veterans offered valuable insights on various aspects of building a business, from hiring and financing to manufacturing and distribution.

Julia Kassam, Managing Director of CIBC Innovation Banking, provided the opening remarks, welcoming the more than 200 guests in attendance. Lydia Dishman, a reporter for Fast Company, emceed the day-long event, which featured 20 speakers, including leaders of organizations that Osler is proud to call clients: Daniel Debow (Helpful), Dennis Kavelman (iNovia), Frederic Lalonde (Hopper), Kerry Liu (Rubikloud), Ray Reddy (Ritual) and Sonia Sennik (Creative Destruction Lab).
