Osler lawyers Faylene Lunn and Geoffrey Langen named IP Rising Stars

Osler is very pleased to announce that lawyers Faylene Lunn and Geoffrey Langen have been recognized as Rising Stars by Managing Intellectual Property. Every year, Managing Intellectual Property conducts extensive research, including soliciting market feedback, as part of the methodology for selecting the intellectual property practitioners to be identified as Rising Stars.

An associate in our Ottawa office, Faylene practises intellectual property law, focusing on patent litigation, including proceedings under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. She has appeared as counsel in both actions and applications involving patent rights and remedies before the Federal Court. Faylene has also been involved in helping clients protect and enforce their patent portfolios in multiple jurisdictions. A trained scientist with a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology, Faylene has had her scientific work in enzymology, organic chemistry, molecular biology and microbiology published in peer-reviewed journals.

Geoff practises intellectual property law in Osler’s Ottawa office with a focus on pharmaceutical patent litigation, including under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. He also has experience in trade-mark litigation and matters related to data protection under the Food and Drug Regulations. Geoff has appeared as counsel before the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal. He also regularly prepares infringement and invalidity opinions for pharmaceutical and mechanical device patents. Geoff has a B.Sc. in biochemistry and a M.Sc. in molecular biology. His graduate work in molecular biology, microbiology and genetics has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.
