As part of its ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, Osler is proud to have participated in a Diversity Pitch Event organized by Diverse Champions for Diversity in Toronto on March 7. The event, hosted by Thomson Reuters, gave 100 racially diverse lawyers the opportunity to pitch to 33 general or senior counsel from a wide range of industries. May Cheng, a partner in Osler’s Intellectual Property Group, was a member of the organizing committee for the event, and participated along with Richard Wong, Chair of Osler’s Construction Group, Ted Liu, a partner in Osler’s Technology Group and Daniel Wong, counsel in Osler’s Employment and Labour Group.

The popularity and success of this event reflects the elevation of racial diversity as an important factor for many clients in the selection of their external counsel. Osler is proud to take a leading role in supporting and promoting diversity within our firm, in the legal industry and in our communities. We respect that each individual is unique, and we recognize, welcome and celebrate these individual differences. Led by our Diversity Committee, we actively participate in a wide range of diversity initiatives to create real and lasting change, either through internal firm programs or in collaboration with our clients.
