Osler is pleased to welcome Chris Barnett as a partner in our Real Estate Practice Group in Toronto. Chris practises in land use planning, property development and municipal law.

For nearly 25 years, Chris has specialized in providing public and private sector clients with strategic advice on co-ordinating and addressing the various levels of approvals required for complex real estate projects across all asset classes. He advises on growth management issues, cultural heritage, parkland dedication/valuations, employment land and aggregate resource policies, development charges and cost-sharing matters, environmental assessment processes and approvals, and the implications of provincial policies and initiatives. Chris has appeared before all levels of courts in Ontario and appears regularly before the Ontario Municipal Board/ Local Planning Appeal Tribunal and municipal councils, as well as the Environmental Review Tribunal. Chris is recognized as a leading lawyer in the area of property development and municipal law in the Lexpert/ALM 500 Directory, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, and Best Lawyers in Canada.
