Robert Yalden will be the inaugural holder of the Stephen Sigurdson Professorship at Queen’s

Apr 26, 2018

After 27 years with the Firm, Rob Yalden will be taking early retirement from Osler later this year in order to join the Queen’s University Faculty of Law as the inaugural holder of the Stephen Sigurdson Professorship in Corporate Law and Finance.

The Sigurdson Professorship was established to commemorate the memory of the Firm’s former partner and National Managing Partner following his passing in November of 2016.  The Firm and many of its members have contributed generously to the Sigurdson Professorship and it is a source of pride for all of us that Rob should be the inaugural holder of the position.

Rob has been a prominent member of the Firm’s M&A and corporate practices for many years, holding many leadership positions along the way, and was an integral part of the team that opened our Montreal office in 2001.

Rob has made a lifelong commitment to legal education that has taken many guises - as Adjunct Professor at McGill, as the co-author of leading textbooks in business law, and in his extensive writings for legal and business publications. We wish Rob all the best in his future endeavours.
