Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP is pleased to announce that Stéphane Eljarrat is joining the firm as a partner in our National Litigation Group. Stéphane will be based in our Montréal and Toronto offices, and will lead Osler’s white-collar defence practice, working closely with our Risk Management and Crisis Response team.
Our clients are facing expanded and increasingly complex and collaborative regulatory regimes, as compliance efforts continue to focus on allegations of corruption, trade sanctions, violations of anti-money laundering, antitrust, competition and securities laws, and tax evasion. Stéphane brings to Osler his market-leading expertise in white-collar defence built over decades of experience in both private practice and the public sector. Stéphane leverages his highly specialized expertise in dealing with national and international law enforcement processes and agencies to guide corporate clients and institutions through a range of criminal and regulatory matters, from early-stage investigations to regulatory hearings. He also acts as trial and appellate defence counsel for clients in criminal proceedings. Stéphane also has experience representing clients in tax disputes in domestic and cross-border matters.
Stéphane was admitted to the Québec Bar in 1994, and was also called to the bar in Ontario (2011) and Paris, France (2012). Before joining Osler, Stéphane was a partner at another leading Canadian firm. Prior to that he was with the Government of Québec in the Ministry of Public Safety and the Ministry of Revenue. He also worked for the federal Department of Justice with the RCMP Legal Services in the National Tax Litigation Section and as a federal prosecutor.
To reach Stéphane directly, he can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or 514.904.8118 in Montréal and 416.862.6623 in Toronto.
