Osler leads the pack, advising on 9 of Lexpert’s Top 10 Deals for 2019

Lexpert Magazine has recently released its 2019 “Top 10 Deals” feature where Osler was recognized for its market dominance by acting on nine of Lexpert’s top 10 transactions, more than any other law firm in Canada. According to Lexpert, the competition to make the final list was fierce in a year that saw multiple blockbuster deals.

Osler advised on the following nine transactions:

• TD Bank in connection with Air Canada’s $2.4 billion acquisition of Aimia Canada’s loyalty business
• Genworth Financial in its $2.4 billion agreement for Brookfield Business Partners to acquire Genworth’s stake in Genworth MI Canada Inc.
• Constellation Brands in connection with Canopy Growth’s US$3.4 billion plan of arrangement to acquire Acreage Holdings
• Entertainment One in its $5.3 billion announced acquisition by Hasbro
• a syndicate of lenders in connection with the $1.9 billion Wataynikaneyap Power Transmission Project
• the underwriters in connection with Lightspeed POS’ $276 million IPO
• Special Committee of Goldcorp in its US$10 billion acquisition by Newmont Mining
• BMO Capital Markets, financial advisor to Kinder Morgan’s Special Committee in Pembina Pipeline’s $4.35 billion acquisition of Kinder Morgan
• Dream Global Real Estate Investment Trust in its $6.2 billion acquisition by Blackstone
