Mary Buttery, QC joins Osler’s Litigation Group in Vancouver as a Partner

Osler is pleased to welcome Mary Buttery, QC  to the Litigation Group in our Vancouver office.

Mary brings a unique combination of commercial litigation expertise, representing clients in complex, multi-party commercial litigation and class actions, and a robust restructuring and insolvency practice. 

Mary has served as lead counsel in nationally significant commercial litigation disputes including class actions involving opioids, automobile wire harnesses and lithium-ion battery price fixing. She also has market-leading expertise in restructuring and insolvency, representing financial institutions, debtors and creditors, receivers and trustees in matters relating to debt restructuring, corporate reorganizations, loan workouts, fraudulent preference actions, bankruptcy and receiverships.  Mary has also represented clients in aboriginal matters across the country.

Mary has appeared in all levels of the British Columbia and Ontario courts, the Federal Court, and has been lead counsel in the Supreme Court of Canada.
