Osler is pleased to congratulate Maureen Killoran, QC, and Laura Fric on their recognition in Benchmark’s “Top 100 Women in Canada” 2022. This is the seventh consecutive year that Maureen has been recognized. Her consistent recognition as a top woman in litigation by Benchmark Litigation acknowledges her work on impactful litigation matters and her strong reputation among clients and peers.

Maureen is the firm's national Co-Chair and a former Managing Partner in Osler’s Calgary office. She is recognized for her outstanding litigation practice and expertise in energy and resource, Indigenous and commercial litigation, appellate advocacy, and constitutional and administrative law. Maureen is widely recognized by clients and peers as a trailblazer among women and one of the best litigators in Canada. She is referred to as “an ‘absolutely exceptional’ lawyer who adeptly handles major litigation in the energy and natural resources sectors” and holds top rankings across leading industry publications. Practicing out of both our Vancouver and Calgary offices, Maureen was the first woman in Alberta to lead a national law firm on a regional level and has litigated in almost every province in Canada.

In May, Maureen was named Energy/Resources Litigator of the Year at the 2022 Benchmark Canada Awards.

Laura is a partner in the firm’s litigation group, bringing a combination of strong courtroom advocacy, practical judgement and strategic thinking to all her cases. Laura is an experienced trial, appellate and class action lawyer, representing clients on their most challenging issues. She is Co-Chair of Osler’s Compensation Committee, and a former Co-Chair of the Canadian Advocates’ Society commercial litigation group.
