On July 20, 2026, Brookfield, through its private equity business, agreed to acquire Gregg Distributors (Gregg or the company), a leading industrial maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) distributor, for an enterprise value of approximately $1.6 billion. The company is currently owned by the Gary Gregg family and its employees, who will retain a meaningful ownership stake in the business as part of the transaction. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
Gregg is a leading Canadian industrial MRO distributor, founded in 1968 and headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, serving a diversified base of industrial customers across Western Canada. As a market leader with more than 58 years of operating history, Gregg has established a differentiated market position through its broad product offering, rapid fulfillment capabilities and high-touch customer service model, enabling it to serve mission-critical customer needs.
