On August 20, 2026, Roots Corporation (TSX: ROOT), Canada’s heritage outdoor and lifestyle brand, announced that it had entered into an agreement to be acquired by Marquee Brands in partnership with JM&A Design and Development Inc. Pursuant to the transaction, Roots shareholders will receive $4.10 per common share in cash.

Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP acted for Searchlight Capital Partners, L.P., the controlling shareholder of Roots, with a team that included Manny Pressman, Alex Gorka, Emery White and Shira Dveris (Corporate).
