The Senior HR Coordinator will play an integral role in the Human Resources team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to various functional areas during an HR system implementation. This role will deliver high quality client service while demonstrating strong teamwork, adaptability, and a willingness to pitch in and support the team.

Major Responsibilities

Talent Management (Recruitment and other Talent Initiatives)

  • Supports recruitment initiatives including development of job advertisements, screening applications, coordinating and conducting Teams and in-person interviews, and offer letters
  • Supports the onboarding and orientation process including conducting background checks and preparing materials for new hires.
  • Assist in various HR events, such as Take Your Kid to Work Day, Administrative Summer Student Lunch and Student Achievement Awards

Rewards (Compensation, Pension, Benefits and Disability Management)

  • Provides administrative support for the annual salary and bonus review process by providing data input, report generation, data analysis and individual notifications
  • Receives, completes, and prepares analysis from external salary and benefit surveys from various professional organizations
  • Provides administrative support for pension plans including preparing, tracking and remitting of contributions.  Manages enrolment, termination and retirement of Plan members and prepares required documentation.  Responds to employee inquiries and conducts research as needed.  Requires frequent interaction with external vendors and government agencies
  • Provides administrative support for filing of electronic employee files
  • Provides administrative support for disability management (short and long-term disability and return to work) programs by preparing required documentation and communicating to firm members, third party adjudicators and insurance companies as needed
  • Provides administrative support for wellness initiatives by preparing event announcements, tracking attendance, setting up virtual or in-person venues for lunch & learns, webinars, flu clinics, etc.


Position Requirements

Education and Experience

This position requires a post secondary education in a related business discipline and completion of courses towards a Human Resources certificate/designation with 2-3 years of HR experience, ideally with exposure to benefits and disability management.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills; warm, inviting and engaging
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships including possessing a confidential and tactful manner
  • Strong time management and organization skills to efficiently handle multiple priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication and active listening skills
  • Strong analytical skills, detail orientation and mathematical accuracy
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications with advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of relevant provincial employment acts, such as the Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, and their application to benefits, pension, payroll and compensation matters  
  • Knowledge of HR practices and ability to identify opportunities and efficiencies

We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement will be in place for this role, with a requirement to work partially in the office and an opportunity to work remote.
