The innovative Osler Works – Transactional Group leads the way in delivering corporate and commercial transaction solutions through the expertise of our specialized team of lawyers and business professionals and use of cutting-edge legal technologies and processes.
In this unique non-partnership position, you will be instrumental in and primarily responsible for transforming the way we provide legal services, with an initial focus on start-ups and venture-scalable businesses in our Emerging and High Growth Companies (EHG) practice area. This role will primarily work with and support “internal clients”, being members of the firm, to design and implement new legal processes and technology that enhance our service delivery for our EHG and other transactional clients. This role will be primarily focused on legal services and will also provide exposure to business operations. There is no business development expectation beyond providing exceptional service to your internal clients.
Do you have what we’re looking for?
- Called to the bar in Ontario, Vancouver or Calgary, with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of corporate transactional experience and ideally experience working with emerging and high growth clients;
- Proven track record in project management, with preference given to that gained in a legal context;
- A driven self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting;
- A solution-focus with strong business acumen and legal judgment;
- A “roll up the sleeves” mentality who can both effectively oversee projects and also action items to meet deliverables; and
- A high technology proficiency and adaptable to changing priorities and circumstances.
