Overview
On March 22, 2017, a new international commercial arbitration act came into force in Ontario with immediate effect, repealing the previous international commercial arbitration act. Under the new act there are changes to how an arbitration agreement can be concluded and new provisions regarding limitation periods, interim measures, and the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards.
