Overview
The completion of the CETA negotiations was an important achievement, signaling the first comprehensive trade and investment agreement between developed economies. The provisional implementation of CETA as of September 2017 will bring about many of the anticipated benefits of the agreement. Yet there remains unfinished business. The first panel will provide a close look at the status of CETA today and the road ahead.
CETA breaks new ground in a wide range of industries and subject matters, from trade in goods, services and investment to government procurement, regulatory cooperation and dispute settlement. The second panel will examine key developments that CETA has brought about.
The third panel will address CETA’s trade in services and mobility provisions including immigration, employment and tax issues.
