Overview
The Canadian Legal and Legislative Update covers recently enacted and proposed legislation as well as regulations pertaining to pensions and benefits. This two-day conference, hosted by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, is an opportunity to learn from and interact with industry experts and to develop your understanding of the most critical issues in Canada.
Jana Steele, a partner in Osler’s Pensions Benefits Group will present the topic, Member Communications—Legal Obligations and Risks. This session is the first in a two-part series on member communications. It examines the legal obligations for member communications and the related risks faced by plan sponsors and administrators. Recent case law in the area of plan communications will also be discussed.
