October AccessPrivacy Monthly Call

Overview

Our complimentary Monthly Privacy Call is a telephone conference led by our team of privacy professionals.  We offer expert analysis and insights into emerging issues and notable developments in the privacy and information management space. The call provides privacy professionals with a unique opportunity to stay current in the rapidly-evolving field of privacy and data governance through a highly efficient format of 30 minutes each month.

Agendas are circulated several days in advance of each call, and call-in details are provided to registrants on the day before the call. Recordings of each call are made available to subscribers of our AccessPrivacy Knowledge Portal.

The October Monthly Call will include commentary on:

1.  Post-election implications for privacy law reforms;
2.  Recent OPC finding on Loblaws gift card offering; 
3.  ECJ decisions on:​
   • Google LLC v Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL) [C-507/17]; and
   • Eva Glawischnig-Piesczek v. Facebook Ireland Limited [C-18/18];
4. Open Courts and Privacy Denis v. Côté, 2019 SCC 44;
5. Information and Privacy Comissioner of Ontario - Open Letter from Commissioner re:  Sidewalk Labs' Proposal; and 
6. Submission to ISED on De-identification by CANON, the Canadian Anonymization Network.
