Overview

Get half of your EDI credits in one afternoon!

To help avoid the year-end credit crunch, Osler is making it easy for you to earn up to 1.5  EDI Professionalism credits in one afternoon at our annual CPD Summer Drive-In, a spinoff of our very popular CPD Cinema, which is held each December.

On Tuesday, August 18 we will re-broadcast three programs (pre-recorded) that offer substantive and EDI professionalism credits. We are offering three screening times, each featuring a different program. Join us for one, or stay logged in all afternoon. The program and credit descriptions are set out below.

1:00 PM - 1:45 PM: Being an Effective Ally in the Workplace

Workplace allies can be important supporters of people who may often be underrepresented in organizational life. This session will take a closer look at what allies can do to be effective in this role.

  • Ontario: 45 minutes EDI Professionalism.

  • Québec: 45 minutes Continuing Education

  • British Columbia: 45 minutes Practice Management

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: COVID-19 Return to the Workplace: Employer FAQ

Osler’s Employment & Labour team continues to receive a record-breaking number of client inquiries related to returning to the workplace. Joined by our expert guest speaker Maja McGuire, Director of Infection Prevention and Control at North York General Hospital, and Principal of Practice Health Check, a boutique infection control solutions consultancy, the team addresses your return to work FAQ's.
*This program is subject to change pending updates from public health officials and provincial governments.

  • Ontario: 1 hour Substantive

  • British Columbia: 1 hour Practice Management

3:15 PM - 4:00 PM:  Has Diversity Undermined Authenticity?

An insightful virtual fireside chat with Tuvia Borok, an executive director and senior counsel for Goldman Sachs, who is a diversity leader both in his corporate life and through the reach of a charitable organization he co-founded, The P3 Network, and Elliot Smith, Osler partner and Chair of the Osler Pride Network. Tuvia's leadership and advocacy of diversity and inclusion were the subjects of a recent Forbes magazine article, and we were excited to have him join us as we explore the topic of why diversity matters now more than ever.

  • Ontario: 45 minutes EDI Professionalism.

  • Québec: 45 minutes Continuing Education
