Overview

Executives and board members need to be vigilant in effectively responding to allegations of bullying, harassment and other misconduct in the workplace. Equally important, although often overlooked, is how they steer that business, and its employees out of the crisis to a stable, healthy state. The #MeToo movement has increased risk for those businesses without effective crisis response plans, and has underlined questions about the role of boards in overseeing management and taking other proactive steps in the management of the business.

In this seminar, we consider the importance of responding  promptly, appropriately and transparently to crisis situations, and discuss how board members, executives and general counsel can navigate their responsibilities to best manage evolving legal risks and governance issues within their organizations.

Panelists will address strategies in respect of:

  • Process accountability
  • “Red-flags” and common pitfalls
  • Communications protocol with internal and external stakeholders
  • Best practice governance protocols and procedures
  • Role of Third party consultants and experts
  • Maintaining privilege and confidentiality
