Osler acted as legal advisor to the Premier’s Advisory Council on Government Assets in its negotiations with the Beer Store and its owners over changes to the distribution and sale of beer in Ontario.

Those negotiations resulted in a series of agreements (the “New Beer Agreements”) that open ownership of the Beer Store to all Ontario brewers that sell beer through the Beer Store and make it a supplier-neutral channel for retailing beer.  The New Beer Agreements also pave the way for Ontario’s initiative to allow the sale of beer in Ontario grocery stores.

Osler’s team was led by Terry Burgoyne and included Rob Lando and  Justin Dharamdial (Corporate), and Shuli Rodal (Competition).
