On June 26, 2020, Solink announced a $23 million investment round led by the venture capital arm of Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (“OMERS”). The Series B funding will be used for product development.

Solink integrates existing security cameras with business data such as points of sale and inventory. It uses artificial intelligence to identify trends and flag suspicious behavior proactively to clients.

OMERS is one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans. OMERS invests and administers pensions for over half a million active, deferred and retired employees of 1,000 municipalities, school boards, libraries, police and fire departments, and other local agencies in communities across Ontario.

Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP advised Solink with a team consisting of Chad Bayne, Michael Grantmyre, Andrew Irwin and Shalu Atwal (Emerging & High Growth Companies).
