On September 17, 2014, Ventas Canada Finance Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ventas, Inc., announced a private placement of 3% senior notes, series A for gross proceeds of $400 million and 4.125% senior notes, series B for gross proceeds of $250 million. At the time of the transaction, this was the largest unsecured offering by a REIT; it also marked the first time that Ventas Canada Finance raised debt capital in the Canadian market.
