Agribusiness - Mergers and Acquisitions

With global demand for food rising and with trends such as food security, commodity price volatility and better supply chain management, among others, coming into focus, agricultural companies are looking for ways to find efficiencies and take advantage of growth opportunities. Historically, this sector has also been fairly fragmented, meaning there is room for consolidation. This applies to nearly every part of the agribusiness market from production to equipment to technology to farm management and more.

Those who want to take advantage of the M&A-related opportunities must have a strong understanding of the market and how the sector has evolved over the last several years. There are many ways to enhance your bottom line – whether it’s investing in Agtech or modernizing production facilities – you need to work with someone who knows the players, can navigate regulations and is fully aware of the various valuations in this sector.

Osler’s Agribusiness team has decades of experience working with all types of companies in this industry. We provide legal advice and practical business guidance for stakeholders looking to maximize their business opportunities through mergers or acquisitions. Osler’s M&A team is also complemented by experts in tax, competition, employment and other areas so that every aspect of a transaction is considered.
