Given their rapid growth and appetite for risk, early-stage companies are frequently plagued by disputes between their various stakeholders. These can easily escalate to litigation, which can become a distraction for the companies and a deterrent for their investors. Accordingly, it is important to try to manage these disputes in a way that minimizes the impact on the company. Craig Lockwood and Lauren Tomasich of the Litigation department, both of whom have extensive experience dealing with early stage companies, will lead a short discussion on some of the common “pitfalls” faced by such clients and best practices for avoiding them. They will also answer any questions that you may have relating to litigation risk management.
