The Federal government has released a Bill proposing significant change to the national framework for the protection of personal information in Canada.
The long-awaited and much-anticipated Bill, entitled An Act to enact the Consumer Privacy Protection Act and the Personal Information and Data Protection Tribunal Act, was released by the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Industry and tabled in Parliament on November 16, 2020.
