In 2019, France enacted a tax on large companies' gross revenues from supplying digital interface services and targeted advertising, including on companies without a physical presence in France. Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom have since adopted or are considering similar proposals.

Patrick Marley, a Partner, and Co-Chair of Osler's Tax Group will participate in a panel discussion via webinar presented by TEI that addresses the uncoordinated, unilateral tax measures, and how they raise the specter of double taxation and increased compliance burden for multinationals.
