Emily recently completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, she obtained her Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University, where she majored in Finance and completed the Canadian Securities Course. Emily joined the firm as a summer student in 2022 and 2023, rotating through the Banking & Financial Services, Corporate, and Insolvency & Restructuring practice groups.
During law school, Emily was involved in a number of student-run committees including the Women and the Law Club, where she was elected the Vice-President of Finance. She was also awarded the top-student award in both her Corporate Transactions and Advanced Secured Transactions courses. Prior to law school, Emily worked as a legal assistant for a national independent financial services firm in Toronto. In this role, she supported counsel in practice areas including securities, corporate secretarial, trademarks, wealth management, and general corporate matters.
Emily is also the Co-Chair of the Bay Street Hoops charity basketball tournament, an event which has raised over $2 million for youth access to sports since its inception.
