Dhruv Banerji

Dhruv is a Knowledge Management Lawyer with Osler’s Privacy and Data Management Group. He has an LLM in Privacy and Cybersecurity Law from Osgoode Hall Law School and is a dual-qualified lawyer with bar admissions in Ontario and India. 

Dhruv oversees content on AccessPrivacy and drives the group’s thought leadership activities, including conferences, workshops, and monthly calls. In addition, he regularly assists the team with specialized research and precedent management.

Dhruv regularly draws on his range of experience as a lawyer in a world of hyper and siloed specialization. Previously, Dhruv spent nearly a decade as a litigator in India, representing clients before all levels of court, including the Supreme Court, in matters ranging from complex commercial disputes to criminal defence in serious offences such as murder. In addition, he advised Indian tech, media, healthcare, and blockchain startups on various legal and regulatory issues. Dhruv also provided pro bono representation to many victims of sexual assault in India, including minors, and his work has been referred to by media outlets such as CNN.
