Jeremy Brisset

Jeremy is a partner in the firm’s Business Law Department. His practice covers many areas of corporate and securities law with an emphasis on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.

Jeremy has experience acting for public issuers, financial institutions, investment funds and investment banks, as well as industry leaders in a range of sectors, including real estate, technology, retail, gaming, cannabis, energy and gas, life sciences, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

Jeremy has been involved in a variety of matters (both domestic and cross-border) including initial public offerings, public offerings, private placements, private and public mergers and acquisitions (both negotiated and unsolicited), corporate governance and compensation, corporate reorganizations and dealer/adviser registration matters.

Jeremy has acted for the issuer or the underwriters on a large number of recent going public transactions, including Lightspeed, Dialogue, AbCellera, Alithya, Milestone Pharma, Abacus Health, DavidsTea, Innova Gaming and Nobel REIT. He also regularly acts for public issuers and other leading institutions on significant M&A and financing transactions, including Neptune, Acasti, Xebec, Fairstone Financial and Stars Group.

Jeremy also has a keen interest in technology and emerging companies and is a frequent speaker at various start-up company events and incubators including the McGill Dobson Center for Entrepreneurship, Concordia’s District 3 Program and Form Fintech. He is also a teacher and course administrator with the Credit Institute of Canada (CIC), a board member with the Jewish National Fund and the Just for Kids Foundation (Golf and Cycling Committee) and is a member of the TSX Venture’s regional advisory committee.
