Rama practices intellectual property law, with a particular emphasis on patent disputes, including proceedings under the Patented Medicine (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. Rama also regularly advises clients on commercial IP and life sciences regulatory issues. Prior to her legal studies at the University of Ottawa, where she obtained her JD, Rama pursued her passion for science, achieving a doctorate in biology from the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen in Germany.
Before transitioning to law, Rama's career was rooted in the biotechnology sector, where she excelled as a product development scientist. Her scientific foundation was instrumental in advising on product and scientific risks and in navigating regulatory approvals.
